Ecstasy

Painted to Scriabin's Poem of Ecstasy, this earliest series calls vibrant color up out of black: old energy returning to the earth as fresh light enters from above. Light contains the dark within the negative space — chaos transformed into harmonic form, a victory in paint that releases what the body has held.
